Hace poco llegó el paquete de la Filature de la Bardine con la lana hilada o cardada: una de éstas la Latxa en cinta de carda. Estoy muy contenta con esta lana: casi todos los pelos muertos se han caído en el proceso y solo quedan la lana fina y los pelos de guarda en la cinta:
Luego hilé la lana bastante gordo y después del doblado queda aún más gorda:
La idea ahora es, que hago un borde con esta lana en el cojín que haré de los tejjidos afieltrados….
A few weeks ago I received the package from La Filature de la Bardine with the processed wool. One of the wools we had brought there last year was a ‘black’ fleece of a Latxa sheep. I am very pleased with the outcome: it seems that the kemp hairs have fallen out during the process and only the guard hairs and the soft undercoat have remained. (See photos above.) After spinning quite thick singles on my Louët S10 wheel and plying the two singles into a 2-ply yarn, the yarn is quite bulky. The idea is to knit an I-cord onto the border of the cushion yet to sew together…. (Thank you, Monique, for your idea with the contrasting colour!)
