A mí, me gusta trabajar la lana desde el principio: algunos 50 gramos de lana recien esquilada son suficientes para tejer una de mis ovejitas. Primero tengo que lavarla, dejarla secar, cardar, hilar y plegar. Luego hago un cordero de punto. Una amiga de Ravelry (que vive en Canadá) me hizo un envío con siete diferentes lanas de razas de ovejas. El paquete fue una joya: cada lana era muy diferente pero interesante. Contenía lana de las siguientes razas: Bont, Bond, New Zealand Half Bred, Tasmanian Comeback, Krainer Steinschaf, Braunes Milchschaf y Portland. Como podéis ver por los nombres alemanes, algunas lanas habían hecho una vuelta al mundo, de Europa a Canadá y vuelta.

I just love to work with wool from the very beginning: about only 50 gr of greasy, unwashed wool is enough to knit a little lamb. First I have to wash the wool, then let it dry, card it with my hand cards, spin it on my Louët wheel and finally ply it. Then I knit one of my little sheep for my collection. A friend on Ravelry (she lives in Canada) sent me a package with seven different types of wool. It was a real treasure: every sample was very different and therefore interesting. The different samples were from the following sheep: Bont, Bond, New Zealand Half Bred, Tasmanian Comeback, Krainer Steinschaf, Braunes Milchschaf and Portland. As you can see from the German names, some of the wools have made quite a world tour from Europe to Canada and back.
