Algunas personas ya conocen la máquina de Iletegia, que han traído Aitor y Aña de Alsacia a Sara, Francia. Su proyecto constiste mayormente en hacer napas de la lana Latxa (Manex en francés) para los colchones que hacen a mano. Pero también tienen otras cosas hechas de la lana Manex: bolsos, hilos e incluso ¡una capa de abrigo! Cuando la ví hace unas semanas, tenía que tenerla. En mayo voy a viajar a un congreso de ovejas ‘de color’ (es decir, no blancas) y tengo la intención de lucir con esta capa.
Some people already know about the carding machine that Aitor and Aña brought to Sara, France, from Alsace. The carding machine was necessary for Iletegia because they needed batts for the mattresses they wanted to make from Latxa (or Manex) wool. Apart from these mattresses they now also have lots of other products, including small purses and yarn for weaving, for example. But last time I visited them they also had a cape made of our local wool! I was delighted and so I had to buy one of the capes. I hope to be able to show off this lovely cape at the World Congress of Coloured Sheep next May in Biella, Italy.
