Como muchos ya saben, sacar las fibras del lino es un trabajo bastante laboroso: después del cultivo, el secado, el desgranado y el enriado, hay que trabajar los tallos mucho tiempo hasta que se queden solamente las fibras en las manos. Y luego viene el hilado con huso o con rueca de rueda. Este último proceso quise mostrar en el mini-taller el pasado domingo en los Viveros de Ulia durante la Fiesta del Otoño. Aunque llovió por la tarde, algunas personas se acercaron al parque para disfrutar del buen ambiente y la música. Os pongo algunas fotos del domingo pasado: (siento el tamaño tan pequeño…)
Most people know that getting the fibres out of the flax plants requires quite a lot of work: after planting, drying, deseeding and retting the flax, you have to work the stalks quite a while until you have only the fibres in your hands. And after that you still have to spin them on a hand spindle or on the spinning wheel. This last stage of the process was what I tried to demonstrate last Sunday in the Viveros de Ulia during the Fall Fiesta. Despite the rain in the afternoon, some people came to the park to enjoy the good ambience and the music. I took some photos (above, sorry for the small size).
